July 6, 1955 — December 12, 2017

Visalia- Minerva “Minnie” Suarez, a long-time resident of Dinuba, passed away Tuesday, December 12 in Visalia, California. Born in 1955 in Amarillo, Texas to Eliseo Garza and Rafaela Villarreal-Garza; Minerva spent a lot of time traveling with her parents for work. Eliseo and Rafaela worked in agriculture which required extensive time and effort. While Minerva’s siblings helped their parents she could be found lying around eating up all the fruit. They taught them the importance of hard work and perseverance at a very young age. They loved to sit in their Ford Falcon and listen to their favorite comedian “Polo Polo” for hours. When they were done they would make their children a pancake breakfast. Minnie worked for Ruiz Foods as a food handler for many years. She was very dedicated to her work and she put a lot of time in to what she did. She enjoyed her co-workers and developed a love for serving others. Minnie could be found listening to Los Bukis while cooking Mole y arroz. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoyed bonding with her grandchildren, “supervising” family functions, and playing bingo. She is survived by her loving husband Adrian Suarez (Dinuba), her four children Rafael Garza (Visalia), Rose Suarez (Tulare), Liz Garza (Visalia), and Michael Suarez (Visalia), her three grandchildren Daphney Garza (Dinuba), Samantha Suarez-Almenar (Tulare), Israel Almenar (Tulare) and host of siblings and relatives.
