JD H. Leeth

July 31, 1932 — February 7, 2018

JD LEETH   JD Leeth died on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at home in Visalia, California at the age of 85. JD is survived by his his wife Diane and his daughter Denise Leeth of Visalia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Freeman and Beatrice Leeth and two brothers, Carmen D. and Wilson. After the death of his father the family moved from Alabama to California and settled in Linnell Camp. J D went to grammar school there and was on the Linnell baseball team The Tetoes. This is where he made his lifelong friends Bobby Goldsmith and Cecil Seacry, who preceded him in death. JD graduated from Visalia Union High School where he lettered in baseball and basketball.   JD served in the Army during the Korean War with Bobby and Cecil. Their adventures have kept our families entertained for years. After being honorably discharged from the Army he attended and graduated from COS while working at Montgomery Ward. JD retired from Montgomery Ward after 42 years of dedicated service. During those years he received many awards and accommodations for excellence in the performance of his job. JD loved baseball, bowling and fishing. His favorite was the one he was doing at the time. For many years he owned and operated the Visalia Pro Shop at Visalia Lanes. He enjoyed working with the Men's Bowling Association and in 2006 was inducted into the Tulare County USBC Association Hall of Fame by the United States Bowling Congress. Per JD's request there will be no services. Arrangements by Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel of Visalia
