Aileen was born September 25, 1947, to Norm and Maxine Kramer in Ogallala Nebraska. She was joined by Kristy, Cheri, and Todd to complete the family. She grew up in Arthur County attending grade school and high school in Arthur, graduating in 1965. As a small child of 5 years old she contacted polio and was in the Children’s Hospital in Omaha. While in the 3rd grade, she came down with rheumatic fever. She was bedridden for the better part of the school year. It’s a good thing she was smart to stay up with all her studies. It was during that time, she developed her love of books and a desire for the medical profession. After high school, she completed her first year of College in Laramie Wyoming, then transferred to University of Nebraska in Lincoln, to complete her bachelor’s degree in chemistry. She then completed medical technology degree at the University Medical Center in Omaha Nebraska. Upon graduation, she worked in Ogallala Nebraska for a short time before moving to North Platte, working at the Great Plains Medical Center. North Platte is where she met Mike Coty, fell in love and got married.
They decided to move to Denver Colorado where she worked, and daughter Shannon was born in 1974. Shortly after, they moved to Imperial where Aileen worked at the hospital. Travis was born in 1977. It wasn’t until 1985, the family moved to Visalia California. Aileen worked at Kaweah Delta Hospital, becoming an important addition to the laboratory. She worked there for 35 years and worked at Hanford Adventist Health part-time. She continued to work in Hanford until her passing.
In Visalia, she became very involved with the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. This became her passion in life. She first joined in September 1989. She organized many functions local and state. She currently held the office of Vice President. Aileen held many CCC Offices during her terms. President, Vice President, Secretary, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer, Coach Chairman. Aileen, also was part of the Visalia Area Council. She held all offices of President, Vice President, and Secretary several times. The sorority ladies made many trips to Disneyland, trips to the coast, and even went on a cruise together. Aileen was a very strong independent lady that coworkers, friends and family loved and respected. She will be greatly missed. There will be a celebration of life in June, in Arthur Nebraska, where she will be laid to rest.
