Arlene Pratt

July 9, 1926 — December 31, 2018

Arlene Pratt, age 92, a native from Visalia, CA passed away peacefully on Dec 31, 2018 surrounded by her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Angele Donkersley, Glenn O. Pratt (husband), [Dale Pratt (son) and Harry and Robert Donkersley (brothers) Arlene was born to Harry and Angele Donkersley, July 9, 1926 in Visalia, CA. She married Glenn O Pratt in 1948 and they lived together in Visalia, CA.  She became a farmer’s wife and often helped her husband Glenn farm by helping plant cotton by sitting on the planter or was often seen hauling cotton trailers back and forth to the gin.   Her true passion was music and she had a beautiful operatic voice.  As a member of the First Christian Church she faithfully sang in the church choir.  One of Arlene’s musical highlights was that she sang with the Tulare County Symphony Orchestra.  She was also involved in the PTA while her children where in school. She was well known for organizing Visalia Union High School class of 1944 events.    Arlene is survived by 2 children: Glenda Gunning (Mike) of Visalia, CA and Laurie Viselli (Larry) of Granbury, TX.  Sister-in-law Elizabeth Norton, Tulare, CA.   She also leaves her 4 grandchildren. Caleb Gunning (Karen), Jake Gunning (Laura), Coty Viselli and Zach Viselli.  She also leaves behind 6 great grandchildren, Cayla and Kenley Gunning, Preston Correa, Owen, Reagan and Emerson Gunning and numerous nieces and nephews.   Her children remember her as always taking the family to the beach for vacation each summer. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for January 4, 2019 4:00 pm at the First Christian Church, 1023 N. Chinowth, Visalia, 93291.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Christian Church Youth Group or  Kaweah Delta Hospice Foundation, 623 W Willis, Visalia, CA 93291.  The family would also like to thank the staff of Quail Park for the respect, dignity and support that was given to Arlene during her residency.
