Barbara Kenney

Barbara Simons was born in Bakersfield, CA on August 20, 1935 to Philip and Dora Simons, she is the eleventh of thirteen children. She is survived by her sisters Irene Kimes (92) and Nina Stebbins (86) and her husband Edward Blair.

She is preceded in death by her late husband Rector Herbert Kenney, parents Philip and Dora Simons and her siblings with spouses Florence, Richard & Phyllis, Willis & (Margie, Juanita), Robert & Lahoma, James & Dorothy, Harry & (Maxine, Elizabeth, Rosine), Juanita & Robert Hickernell, Wanona & (Wayne Lewis, Elwood “Bud” Frye), Jack Kimes, Ina Claire, Marlin Stebbins, Mary & Richard Kendrick.

She is also survived by her five children, 12 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 30 great-great grandchildren.

Barbara spent 37 years doing bookkeeping and was an avid reader. She read/listened to over 1000 books in the last 10 years even though she was blind. She loved Family the most and traveling, to see, or with, family was her favorite. She died April 28, 2024 peacefully in her sleep with family.
