Carolyn J. Thao

Carolyn Johanna Thao was born on October 25th, 1972 and went to be with The Lord on September 24th, 2018.  Carolyn is survived by her three daughters and son; Schara Villagomez, Alyssa Keller, Dia Thao, and Adam Thao.  She is also survived by her grandchildren; Jayden, Matix, Nolan, Kael, Eliam, and Celso III.  Carolyn was a free spirit who fiercely loved her family and friends.  From an early age Carolyn had a sincere desire to care for others in such a way that she dedicated her life to a career in nursing.  After graduating high school Carolyn went on to earn her Vocational Nursing License in 1997.  She excelled in her field and soon set her sights on earning her Registered Nursing License.  Carolyn accomplished exactly that and served caring for Californians as an RN at the Porterville Developmental Center for 16 years.  Carolyn took her career very seriously and earned a Superior Accomplishment Award from the directors at PDC.  Carolyn was also recognized by the California State Assembly, and the California Senate for her exceptional job performance while working at PDC.  Carolyn loved her patients and loved her co-workers as she connected with many on such a personal level.  Those closest to Carolyn outside her professional world knew she had a wild side and more appropriately called her “JoJo”.  During her time off, you would find her celebrating for any good reason, frequenting country concerts, and mudding with family and friends.  She lived her life to the fullest and had a way of hilariously shocking you with what she might say next.  She will certainly be missed in the sincerest way by all her loving family and friends. There will be a celebration of life for Carolyn at Heart of the Valley Church this Saturday September 29th at 3:00pm. Heart of the Valley Church, 2800 W.
