Carolyn Gale Woods Johnson was born April 12 1964 and had her home going on May 25th 2023. Carolyn is preceded in death by her mother, Linda Woods, her brother Gregory Woods and her sister Deborah Woods. She is survived by her children, Jacob Johnson Jr., Joaquin Johnson, LeRoyce Johnson, Melony Johnson, Angela Johnson, Talia Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Johnny Keel Woods Jr., Gregory Woods Keel, and Timila Ferguson. As the star of her homecoming. Her perfect appearance in the afterlife. We know you were graciously greeted by our ancestors. Born Easter SUNDAY 1964. The best Easter Sunday of our lives. A procession of what some might see as undesirables, Young Black Men in black tanks were there to see about you when you passed. Tough as nails. But too devastated over the loss to even speak. For they too loved you, severely, completely. Only now do we really see you, Carolyn. To finally realize when life handed you unbearable sorrow. You still found the strength to be a mother to an entire community. To begin again. To be the very essence of Joy. Your strength was your grace. A space remains empty that only the sweet sound of your laughter will ever fill. You are gone and we are left wanting an Encore. Needing more. Help us remember dear sister, that you live on in your children. In your Grand Children. To keep you living in our memory's garden. A Butter Cup. A bright winter Aconite the first to appear every Spring. Yes, it is pure pain to let you go. Help us understand you are now Free of pain. There is no such thing as handy capped where you are, girl! And there was no such thing for you while you were here. Nothing stopped you from driving, completing your education, falling in love, nor buying a home. Help us to be happy for you are now truly unbound. That you fought and won against all odds We will mourn you and miss you for the rest our lives.
