Cecilia Sedillo

It is with great sorrow to announce that our beloved Cecilia Sedillo, passed away on Wednesday June 30, 2021. On Thursday, July 15, 2021 a viewing from 12-4PM will be held at Hadley Funeral Home located at 1700 W. Caldwell, Visalia, CA followed by the Rosary at 6:30PM which will be held at St. Mary's Church located at 608 N. Church Street, Visalia, CA 93291. On Friday, July 16, 2021 at 9:00AM, church services will be held at St. Mary's followed by a graveside burial at 10:30AM which will take place at the Visalia District Cemetery, located at 1300 W. Goshen Ave, Visalia, CA 93291. Cecilia would have been 74 years old on July 18, 2021. She was born in Tulare County and was raised in Seville, California. She often told many interesting stories about living on “the ranch” with her large family and recalled many fond and poignant memories. At the age of 18, Cecilia moved to Visalia, California and met the love of her life, Frankie Sedillo. “It was not love at first sight” she would lovingly recall, and roll her eyes and laughed about how he playfully teased her. Eventually their relationship blossomed and they fell deeply in love and became inseparable until her death. “Frankie is my rock and biggest support” she would express on numerous occasions. Cecilia and Frankie moved to Santa Clara in 1972 and raised their two sons there and eventually moved back to Visalia 20 years ago where they both retired. Before retiring, Cecilia worked at a medical call center for many years and later managed food demonstrations for Costco. Cecilia loved to garden, cook, bake, embroider and had a great love of music. She did volunteer work for the Veteran’s Society as her husband Frankie served in the Vietnam War. Cecilia was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church and volunteered her services there and also sponsored a child from Columbia. Cecilia will be most remembered by her extreme thoughtfulness and generosity. During her life she helped many family members and friends and was a great support to those who were in her life. Throughout the years she would meticulously host beautiful gatherings for her family and friends and would make sure that everybody was taken care of and having a great time. She was an avid reader, extremely witty with a sharp sense of humor and had the ability to make those around her laugh with her musings on life and at the innumerable stories she shared. She was caring, headstrong and most importantly she was genuine. Her kindness, strength and courage were admirable and Cecilia will greatly be missed by all of her loved ones. We love you dearly Cecilia, may you rest in peace. Cecilia is survived by her husband of 53 years, two sons, two daughters in law, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, five siblings, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. She is preceded in death by her parents and four sisters.
