Christopher S. De Nevi

November 10, 1963 — September 14, 2022

On September 14, 2022, Christopher De Nevi, a beloved husband, father, brother and friend passed away at the age of 58. Chris is survived by his wife of 31 years, Delsie, his son Andrew, his brother, Matt and his uncle, Harry McCarty. Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Cynthia Caves and his grandmother, Margaret McCarty. Chris was born on November 11, 1963, in Stockton, California. He moved from Stockton to Visalia in 1980 where he made his home and owned a successful landscaping business. Chris and Delsie were married on April 1, 1982 and welcomed their son Andrew on January 11, 1983. Chris was an intelligent and eloquent man with a great sense of humor. He loved the outdoors. Chris and his family spent many hours hiking and camping in Yosemite, Sequoia National Park and along the Central California coast. Chris was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America and was a Scout Master for many years. He supported his son Andrew, and others in accomplishing the prestigious Eagle Scout ranking as well. From a young age, Chris loved skateboarding and was a member of the Pardini skate team. Chris’ passion continued through adulthood and he advocated for local skateparks and charities. Chris was also an avid fan of Disneyland. Chris left a fingerprint on the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him and he will live forever in our hearts. A Celebration of Chris’ life will occur at the Woodlake Botanical Gardens (577 E. Naranjo Blvd., Woodlake, CA 93286) on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Directions to Woodlake Botanical Gardens From Highway 99 Turn off on Highway 198 – East Continue East on Hwy 198 for 13 miles At the first traffic light, TURN LEFT (north) on to EXETER Blvd (a.k.a. Highway 65 and Road196) at the Red Barn/Chevron Station Continue for 5 miles; At the end of the road, at the stop sign, TURN RIGHT onto Ave. 336 (there are no street signs at this point) Continue for 150 feet; TURN LEFT back onto Road 196 Continue 1 mile (north); At the stop sign, TURN RIGHT (east) on W. Naranjo Blvd (a.k.a. Ave. 344) Continue 2 miles (east); at the traffic circle, CONTINUE straight (east) on Naranjo Blvd. Continue ¼ mile; TURN RIGHT into parking lot, or park on the street There will be signs to help guide you.
