Daryl E. Pernu, 61, died unexpectedly July 4, 2018 while visiting family in Tours, Texas, where he had planned to retire. He was born March 23, 1957 in Porterville, CA. He was the son of Floyd E and Wilha R Pernu, who preceded in his death. He later moved to Exeter before moving to Visalia. He attended Fresno State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Daryl worked along with his family farming and raising cattle for many years in the Porterville and Springville area. He was a dedicated and loyal employee of Jaxon Enterprises and worked as a Plant Manager in the aggregate industry since graduating from college. Daryl was a gentle man of few words and was affectionately known to his friends and family as “Big D”. He loved to BBQ, work, go to the gym, “getting a good bargain”, and being with his family who he loved dearly. All who where close to Daryl will dearly miss his sharp, dry sense of humor, constant teasing and his sarcastic words of wisdom. Most of all we will miss his infectious snickering. We will always carry Daryl’s memory in our hearts. Daryl is survived by Dedee, his beloved wife of 30 years, son Lucas Pernu, daughter Sara Beth Pernu, sister Karen Pernu, sister Kristi and her husband Greg Weaver. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28th at 11:00 a.m. at the Rocky Hill Church, 237 “E” Street, Exeter, CA 93221 with a reception immediately following the ceremony. In lieu of flowers please make donation to the Wounded Warrior Project, as Daryl was a true American Patriot.Arrangements by Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel of Visalia
