David Jonathan Jones

July 21, 1981 — February 12, 2021

It’s never easy to say goodbye to someone who has been a part of our lives. When that person is gone, there’s an emptiness in the space that he lived in our hearts. That’s what many of us are feeling today. Some of you knew David better than others, but you’re here because he had an impact on your life, and you want to honor that. And because he did affect you in some way, it’s not going to be easy to say goodbye. At such a difficult time, it’s important to remember the good memories we all have of David. By holding on to those memories, we can focus on the good times we had together, and help each other find comfort in this difficult time. David had one baby and that was his pooch Scrappy Doo. He loved and cared Scrappy for upwards of 18 years. I am certain they will spend eternity together taking walks on the beach up and down the California coast. David was always a great cook and had a sharp eye for interior design. In fact, David was good at almost anything he tried to do. He always made his space feel like a home by adding his own personal touches. He enjoyed fishing, working on home improvement and gardening projects, and he had a green thumb. He loved the latest apple technology, dancing, and his skills on the dance floor always shown through when the opportunity presented itself. And more than anything else, David was generous with his time and skills. I remember David helping me many times prepare for Halloween and Christmas parties for the Kids in my clinic. He really took pride in making things for others to enjoy. I will always remember David and the time we shared; watching scary movies, drinking coffee, and listening to music. He was a huge Taylor Swift fan; a Swiftie for short. We made it a point to go to every haunted house we could find in California and watch every walking dead episode made. David and I shared a lot of good times and those times deserve to be remembered. It’s hard to say goodbye to someone who had a big impact on our lives. It’s always hard to lose someone you know, to let go of him, and move on. But if we keep those good memories in our hearts and minds, we can find comfort, and David will always be with us. Just by being here, you’re showing that David had an impact on you. And that’s a great comfort to me to know that he touched other people’s lives in the same way he touched mine. And that’s how I’ll always remember David.
