Edward Herman Immel, 83 of Visalia, California, unexpectedly passed away on February
24, 2025. Ed dedicated his life to service, both in the military and his community.
Ed honorably served in the United States Navy from September 10, 1963 to October 8, 1969.
His military career took him to various parts of the world, including a tour in the Vietnam Campaign, where
he earned numerous commendations for his service. He was a source of inspiration for all who knew him.
Following his military service he worked in retail, and eventually serving in department management for
Orchards Supply Hardware for more that 20 years. After retiring, he volunteered as a police officer and
fireman for the Visalia Police and Fire Departments. His dedication left a lasting impact on his colleagues
and those he served.
Edward was predeceased by his parents Vincent and Miriam, his sister Nancy Laughlin, his brother
Patrick and his only child David.
Ed is survived by his brother Fred, wife Ann, nephews Mark (wife Julia) and Tim (wife Theresa),
niece Shannon Shebelut (husband) Lance, great-nephew Brayton Shebelut, great-nieces Ashlyn
Buckner (husband De Forest), Ryan Shebelut, Bridget Immel, Kathleen Immel, former wife Judy,
and stepdaughter Sherri Kidner. His legacy of service will be forever cherished.
