Edward Andre McElhinny

January 18, 1950 — December 9, 2021

Edward A. McElhinny went to be with the Lord, December 9, 2021. He was born January 18, 1950 in San Francisco to James and Vida McElhinny. He was the oldest of seven children. Ed joined the Army in 1968 and served in the Vietnam War and afterward served in Germany. During that time, he met Jana Leslie, whom he married May 31, 1980. Three years later Ed and Jana welcomed a beautiful, baby girl, Tracy. They bought a home in Visalia in 1985. Eddy served in the National Guard and worked at several McDonald’s restaurants in Visalia. Ed was a devoted husband and father and would do anything for his girls. The three of them were often seen at the mall and College of Sequoias. They were inseparable. Ed spent countless hours with Jana as she went through health challenges. Jana went to be with the Lord, January 16, 2020. Jana was the love of Ed’s life. Ed is survived by his daughter, Tracy. He is also survived by his Sisters: Edith – LA and Alice (Guy) – Peyton, CO. Brothers: Wally (Sharon) – Tollhouse, Bobby – Atwater, David – Sunland, Kenny (Jennifer) – Yehm, CO and Sister-in-Law, Pat Thron (Steven) – Visalia. Eddy was always giving and would go out of his way to help people. Ed will be greatly missed, but it brings comfort to his family to know that he is with our Lord and Heavenly Father. A Celebration of Life will be held at Gateway Church in Visalia, Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Services have been entrusted to Hadley Marcom Funeral Chapel, Visalia.
