Evelyn M. Rivera

Evelyn Rivera Our mother, Evelyn Rivera, was born in Visalia on November 12th, 1937 to Edward and Eulalia “Lala” Estrada. She had two beautiful sisters, Carmen and Anita, and a wonderful brother, Edward. She went to Visalia schools and graduated from Visalia High, now Mt. Whitney High School in 1955. She married Ray Rivera in September of 1960 and had a wonderful life together. They lived in Visalia, Fresno, Stockton, and Armona, where they settled and raised their family. She worked throughout her life and retired from Sears in Hanford and then Josten’s American Yearbook Company in Visalia where she worked with her sisters and many friends. Ray and Evelyn had four children, Ray Rivera of Bakersfield, Ronnie Rivera of Dinuba, Elizabeth Escobar of Bakersfield and Jason Rivera of Visalia. There were also many, many other friend’s kids, nieces and nephews that they loved and treated like their own children. Mom loved watching her kids and grandkids play sports, especially baseball and softball and you could always hear her cheering everyone on and occasionally, loudly giving the umpires her opinion on the calls that didn’t go our way. She was not afraid of anything. She lived for her family and she was perfect. Grandma Evelyn had eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and they all love her very much. Ray and Evelyn were married for 46 years until the love of her life passed away in 2006. She went home to Dad on April 16th, 2021 and they will be together for eternity and we know she is happy. Mom had a wonderful, full life and she will always be in our hearts and in our prayers. She leaves behind family and friends that will keep her love and memory alive forever. Rest well, Mom. We love you. Until we see you again. Visitation will be held at Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel of Visalia on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 4:30pm until 6:30pm. Rosary will be prayed at 5:30pm at Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel, Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 9:00am at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Visalia.
