Gabriel Alexis Ortiz Alvarez

October 28, 1992 — April 7, 2023

Gabriel Alexis Alvarez Ortiz was born in Mexico City, October 28th, 1992 to Carlos and Claudia. Gabriel passed away too soon at the young age of 30 on April 7th, 2023 in Visalia CA. He is the older brother to Brian. Gabriel met his fiance Angela in May of 2019 and helped raise her three children, Conrad, Ezekiel and Aria as his own. He was known by his children as “Baybo”. Together they share their three year old daughter “D”. Gabriel was a gifted mechanic who specialized in BMW and had his own mechanic shop. His passion for cars started at a young age, in high school he would take apart his first car. Gabriel got hired at BMW of Fresno and was sent to school to further his career. Throughout the years his knowledge of mechanical work expanded, he could program vehicles, work on diesels, tractors, just about anything he could get his hands on he could fix. He was described by others as a genius and learned a strong work ethic from his father. Gabriel always looked out for his little brother and brought him into running the automotive business together. He was always honest in his work, never held any anger, grudges or ill intentions. His love for his family and cars was unconditional. Gabriel was a very likable person with a big beautiful heart who was known to help family, friends and strangers without ever expecting anything in return. At 30 years old he had so much responsibility on his shoulders, a shop owner, family man and friend. He somehow managed it all perfectly. The only way to tell if he was stressed was when he scratched his head otherwise you would never know. He was always coming up with new business adventures because he strived to give his family the best, once he had an idea in his head he was unstoppable. From a high school kid taking apart his first car, to a respected shop owner across the central valley, Gabriel had achieved so much in his young life. His favorite meals were camarones and carne con chile. He enjoyed grabbing his cold brew in the morning to kick off his long days. Baybo you were an extraordinary hijo , brother, fiance and father. You leave us with empty hearts but we know we will see eachother again. It’s not a goodbye, it’s a see you next time. Gabriel’s loving and giving ways stayed with him till the very end by organ donation. Gabriel saved lives and is a hero to others. We love and miss you forever Gabriel.
