Gary Dean, a longtime resident of Visalia, Ca, was working in Oregon when he left us unexpectedly, on April 9, 2023 at the age of 62. Gary is survived by his sisters; Janice McCarthy and Ginny Andres; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his parents; Howard and Doris Dean, and his sisters; Linda Mason and Carolyn Lopez. Gary was born is Fresno, Ca. His family moved to Visalia, Ca in 1974 where he attended Mt. Whitney High School and was active in wrestling for 3 years. Gary had a long career with Young’s Market where he started as a grocery bagger at age 16 and diligently worked his way up to manager of the Walnut Avenue store. He spent the last 10 years traveling the United States working for Apollo Retail Specialists. He took great pride in his work and truly enjoyed what he did and the people he worked with. Gary enjoyed volunteering his time as Logistics Coordinator for local Relay For Life events. He was also an avid San Francisco Giants and Minnesota Vikings fan. He enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia and spent many hours at The Press Box collectible store. He attended Visalia Nazarene Church, and held a steadfast love for Jesus Christ. He was known to family as Uncle Gary, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of life is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, at Hadley Marcom Funeral Chapel on Caldwell in Visalia.
