Glenn E. Herman, age 85, passed away at his home in Visalia, CA on Friday, August 27, 2021 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Laverne Herman, with whom he celebrated 49 years of marriage. He was born in Landisville, PA, the son of the late Mahlon Herman and Merie Findley Young. He was a proud Navy Veteran of the Korean War where he served on the USS Eugene A. Green. He and Laverne established a bi-annual reunion for all veterans who served on the U.S.S. Eugene A. Greene to reconnect with those who served and memorialize the lost. Glenn was a hard-working truck driver for many years until he retired from KLX Inc in 1998. He enjoyed classic cars, planning the Navy reunions, spending time, and traveling with friends from The Elks lodge, Vagabonds, California Heartland, FMCA and The Monaco Romer’s. Surviving besides his wife is his son, Glenn Allen Herman, and 3 step-children, Robert Kent, Angie Kunkleman, and Chris Watson, 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 sibling, Marlene Bowman, and his faithful companion, “Skeeter”. He was preceded in death by 1 son, Gary Herman, and 2 brothers, Adam and Mahlon “Toad” Herman. Graveside services will be held at The Visalia District Cemetery on 09/13/2021 @10:30am, and a casual gathering to follow.
