Gloria Jean Jackson

February 26, 1947 — April 9, 2024

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Gloria Jean Jackson, a beacon of love and light, whose life's journey touched the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Born on February 26, 1947, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Gloria's earthly journey reached its peaceful conclusion on April, 8th as her children and grandchildren surrounded her in comfort at home.

Gloria's life was a testament to love, compassion, and unwavering faith. From her earliest days, she radiated warmth and kindness, nurtured by the love of her parents, Virginia Mary Jackson and Joseph Calvin Miller. Under her mother's gentle guidance and teachings at home, Gloria's soul blossomed into a vessel overflowing with love and compassion, grounded in her deep-rooted faith in God where she was homeschooled.

Following her family's relocation to Pixley, CA, Gloria's journey continued to unfold, shaped by the love and care of her Auntie Bula. She attended Tulare Union High School where she graduated. After graduation, It was within the embrace of the family that Gloria began to weave the tapestry of her remarkable legacy, a legacy built on the foundation of unconditional love and boundless compassion.

Gloria's life was enriched by the love of her five precious children, born from a previous marriage. Fate smiled upon her when she crossed paths with Delbert Miller, the love of her life, who embraced her children as his own. Together, they embarked on a sacred journey, welcoming three more children into their loving embrace in Visalia, CA.

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, Gloria's hands were instruments of healing, her heart a wellspring of compassion. Her dedication to caring for others knew no bounds, as she tenderly tended to the needs of countless patients, offering solace and support in their darkest hours. Her exemplary skills and unwavering commitment earned her respect and admiration, culminating in her role as Lead LVN before retirement.

Yet, Gloria's most cherished role was that of a devoted mother. Her children were her greatest joy, the heartbeat of her existence. She poured her soul into nurturing and guiding them, instilling in them the values of love, kindness, and resilience. To her children, she was not only a mother but also a source of unwavering love and unwavering support, a beacon of hope in times of darkness.

Gloria's presence illuminated the lives of all who knew her. Her gentle spirit and genuine kindness created a sanctuary of peace and comfort for those in need. She was a confidante, a friend, and a guiding light, whose love knew no bounds and whose compassion touched the hearts of all who crossed her path.

As we bid farewell to Gloria, we took solace in the knowledge that her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved and touched. Though she may no longer walk among us, her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire and uplift us in the days ahead.

May Gloria's memory be a blessing, a reminder of the power of love to transcend all barriers and illuminate even the darkest of days. May she rest in eternal peace, cradled in the loving embrace of the angels, forever cherished and remembered in our hearts.

Preceding her in heaven, are her sons Delbert Miller, Jr & Leroy Velyines, her daughter, Deprena Velyines, and her grandson, Deonte Porchia
