Grace Evelyn McQuown-Herring

Grace McQuown Herring passed away peacefully on July 7, 2023, in Visalia, California. She was 98. Grace was born in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, on February 4, 1925, one of five children born to Emerson and Nina Molter. Grace’s brothers and sister preceded her in death. Also preceding Grace in death were husband Jack McQuown, with whom she shared a passion for antique cars and resided for many years in Old Shasta just west of Redding; and her most recent husband Francis Herring, with whom she lived in Chico and shared a love of the Church of Christ. Her surviving family members include her son Ronald Hellekson of Veneta, Oregon, daughter Linda Stewart of Chico, California, three grandsons and seven greatgrandchildren; her stepdaughters Rebecca Herring Reiner (Rich) of Chico and Debbie Derhamer (Randy) of Paso Robles. A celebration of Grace’s life will be held at the Church of Christ, 995 E. Lassen Avenue, Chico, on August 5 at 11:00 AM.
