John D. Cotta

In the early morning hours of August 7, 2021, our dear family member John David Cotta was promoted to Heaven. He was our precious son & a dear brother to his sister. John was born at Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia, CA on August 25, 1975, to Ernest & Charlotte (Keys) Cotta. John attended Visalia area schools completing his education at Redwood High. After high school he had several area jobs, he was currently employed by Extreme Towing of Visalia where he was known as “The Wreck Master”, he loved his job. John loved trips to the central coast so much, Cayucos was his home away from home. He enjoyed eating at Duckie’s & The Hofbrau or just sitting and staring at the surf. Most of all John enjoyed spending time with his family. Through the years John enjoyed surfing, fishing, water skiing & target shooting. He was always so much fun to be around. He will be dearly missed by so many family members & friends. He passed peacefully from this life with his mother, father and sister holding his hands and telling him how much he was loved. We wanted so badly to keep him here, but the Lord called him home. He would not want to return, but we can go and be with him in the Lord’s presence. We are so grateful to the Lord that he was gifted into our lives these last 45 years. We loved him and his love touched and filled our lives and hearts. Almost two years ago John met Tisha McGee, and they began dating. He fell head over heals for Tisha and they’ve been inseparable since they met. John and Tisha had such a fun relationship, full of laughter & love. All of John’s friends and family commented all the time how John looked happier than he had been in years. We all loved seeing him smile and enjoy life with Tisha. We are thankful to Tisha for making him so over the moon happy in the time they were together. John is survived by the love of his life Tisha McGee and her daughter Savannah, his 2 sons Nathaniel & Ryan Cotta of Fresno, Ca, his mother and father Ernest and Charlotte (Keys) Cotta of Visalia, his sister Jennifer (Cotta) Smithson and husband Leroy & their daughters Mikayla & Hailey Smithson of Visalia as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He loved you all so very much. A Celebration of the life of John David Cotta will be held at Christian Faith Fellowship church of Visalia at 320 N. Court Street on Sunday August 29, 2021, at 10am, with a gathering at the church hall immediately to follow at 506 N. Court Street. John’s ashes will be scattered at sea near Cayucos, Ca according to his wishes. We would like to thank all the staff at Kaweah Health and to everyone who has supported and assisted us and especially for all the love and prayers. Stay gold “Wreck Master” stay gold!
