On March 26th, 2023, John Anthony Grijalva, Sr. of Tulare passed away to be with the Lord. He was born in Tulare on March 27th,1947 and survived by four children – Anedina, Dominga, John Jr, and Adolph, along with numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He had 8 brothers and one sister: Bobby, Ray, Tommy, Paul, Joe, Tony, Charlie, Rudy, and Mary. He was born in Tulare and remained in Tulare graduating from Tulare Western High, then serving in the Army becoming a Vietnam vet as Master Senior Sgt, proudly serving our country. He returned in 1969 and married Gloria Castellanos having their four beautiful children. Soon after, he worked as a surveyor in Porterville for 13 yrs. After, he began working with Tulare City Schools. He started as a bus driver and spent most of 26 years there as Supervisor of Maintenance. In 2002, he met and married his current wife, Estela Davila and inherited 3 stepsons; Isaac, Joseph, and Joshua, who also served in the army and air force. He also inherited additional grandchildren who respected and loved him. Together, they created a beautiful family. He remained living in Tulare until the time of his passing. He was greatly admired in leadership, integrity, excellent work ethic – he was a man of honor, a man of his word. We all knew him for his serious nature but we also knew him for his love of God. He loved the Lord and we can all rest knowing he’s celebrating his forever life next to his brothers, his mother, Angie, where he will finally be at rest with no more suffering, no more pain. We thank everyone who was a part of his life. He loved you all.
