La Dawn Craig

December 22, 1956 — March 14, 2023

Beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt La Dawn Craig passed away peacefully on March 14, 2023. La Dawn was born in McNary AZ on December 22, 1956, to Thomas and Wanda Craig and passed away in Visalia CA. Mama did, however, spend several years in Northern California and Arizona as a child into her teens. Mama loved to travel. She enjoyed her first trip to Hawaii in September and fell in love with the Hawaiin culture, especially the food and music. One of Mama’s favorite trips was with sister Vallerie and Father Tom which took her all over the southwest for several weeks. Her spontaneous fishing and camping adventures will be some of our favorites to cherish. Mama was an avid crafter, loved to crochet, enjoyed cooking meals for her family and recently got into baking her own homemade breads. She loved to read her romance novels and watch her action movies; with many she kept on repeat. Mama loved a lot of things but most of all she loved her family. Mama is survived by Father Tom of Visalia CA; children Dawn Papion (Nieves Papion) of Belton TX, Frank Hernandez Jr of Visalia CA, Luanna Hernandez (Edward Hernandez) of Visalia CA; grandchildren Angela Kornmuller and Allison Papion; great grandchild Deegan Papion; brother Richard Craig (Karen Craig) of Tulare CA, sisters Vallerie Ruiz of Visalia CA and Rhonda Zens of Goshen CA; sister in law Hope Craig (Thomas Craig Jr) of Shingletown CA; Numerous nieces and nephews; even more great nieces and great nephews. La Dawn was proceeded in death by Mother Wanda Lou Craig and brother Thomas Craig Jr. Services will be Monday April 3rd with Hadley Marcom Funeral Chapel 1700 W Caldwell Ave Visalia CA. Public viewing at 12:00pm with services starting at 1:00pm. Following the services will be a celebration of life at the Veterans Memorial Building located at 609 W Center Ave Visalia CA.
