Margaret B. Flores

Margaret Felipa Serna Basoco was born on April 2, 1930 in Los Angeles, California. She was moved at the age of 6 years old to Yuma, Arizona and she stayed there for the next 22 years. She attended Yuma County and City schools. Margaret then relocated back to Los Angeles, California where she learned her skills needed to become a Nurse’s Aide at a Seminary College in the County of Los Angeles. She was employed by Los Angeles County Hospital, then by Tulare County Hospital. Her last employment was that of independent medical interpreter for 5 years before retirement. Married January 1, 1955 to Ambrosio Flores Sr., Margaret and Ambrosio celebrated 67 years of marriage this year. Together they had 3 sons and 1 daughter. Nick Flores, Ambrosio Flores Jr., Sam Flores and Sara Flores. The couple moved to Visalia in 1957. Margaret was a long time and active member of Iglesia Bautista Hispano Americana, since 1957. She retired from working different positions at the church in 2008. She is preceded in death by her two sons Margarito Nickolas Flores and Samuel Elisas Flores. Four siblings: brothers – Victor Basoco, Andy Basoco and sisters – Beatrice Basoco and Sarah Gray, and daughter-in-law Caroline Garcia. Margaret is survived by her husband Ambrosio Flores Sr., son Ambrosio Flores Jr., daughter Sara Flores, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Flores, sister Millie Pedraza, brother Archie Basoco and brother David Basoco. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. A viewing will be held at Hadley Marcom Funeral Chapel, Visalia, CA on Saturday, April 16 at 9:30 AM with a service to follow at 10:00 AM.
