Marion Ray Polk

September 28, 1941 — September 20, 2019

Marion Ray Polk (Ray) was born September 28, 1941 in Marvell, Arkansas to Roy and Sadie Polk. Ray's mother Sadie passed when he was three and his Dad remarried to Ruth.  Ray loved Ruth as his own mother, until her passing.  Ray has left behind his wife of 55 years, Bobbie Jean Polk and 4 children. Together Bobbie and Ray had 3 children, Renae Penn, residing in Tulare, Denise Polk, Visalia, and Robert Polk, Tulare.  He also claimed Brian Preston from Tulare as his second son.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren Michael Penn and Meaghan Penn; his great grandchildren Keaghan and Remington; all of which he loved and adored more than life.  Ray is also survived by his brothers Dennis Polk, Visalia, and Harry Self from Arkansas, and his sister Laverne Mary Fey, Stockton.  He had many brothers and sisters that have preceded him in death including Bobby Polk, Arkansas, and Dale Polk, Tulare.   He also had many nieces and nephews that he loved and regularly teased.  Ray was very proud to say that he worked for Real Fresh Creamery as a lab technician and fork lift driver in Visalia, Ca for 34 years.   He has many fond memories of his old workdays and colleagues.   Ray loved fishing and hunting and making jokes.  Anyone who knew Ray immediately knew he was quite a character; he left his mark on many people and will be forever missed.   Ray always had a special bond and relationship with his pets.  In many ways, he considered his pets as his children.  They were integrated very deeply into his life and could frequently be found on his lap.     Ray was so unique, colorful and loving that he is truly irreplaceable!   A Viewing will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel, 1700 W. Caldwell Ave Visalia, CA 93277   With a Graveside Service Thursday, September 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Tulare Public Cemetery, 900 E. Kern Ave. Tulare, CA 93274
