Marjorie Joan Maxfield

May 2, 1942 — August 18, 2018

Marjorie (Harris) Maxfield passed away August 18, 2018 after a long illness in Visalia, Ca.  She was born May 2, 1942 in Schenectady, Ny to Earle and Carolyn Harris.  She graduated from Exeter High School, and received her AA at COS in early childhood development.  It was at COS where she met the love of her life Jimmy Maxfield.  They were married Groundhog day 1963 and were married until Jim’s Death September 2, 1999.  They moved to the Bay area for several years before deciding to return to Coalinga so they could be close to family.
Marjie loved her family above all else and was always doing something for them.  The Same was true for her friends she had a very large and kind heart.  Marjie loved Christmas and went overboard making cookies for what seemed like the entire world.  She was also an avid gardener, if you ever saw her yard you would have believed it was from
Better homes and Garden.
She taught pre-school for over 30 years, she truly loved the children she taught and kept in contact with several of her former students until her death.
After the death of her husband Jim she moved to Visalia to be near her son Jason.  Soon after moving to Visalia the 2 absolute loves of her life we born Corinne her only granddaughter, and Dominic her only Grandson.  She spent the summers taking care of them and creating memories that will last a lifetime for her grandchildren.
She had several wiener dogs over the years and loved them with all of her heart.  Her last doxie was Winnie and we are certain that dog prolonged mom’s life by at least a year.
Marjie is survived by 2 daughters Marian Hull and her husband Marty, Melene Doty, and her husband Gary, her son Jason and his wife Kathy, her sister Patty Green and her husband Tom, 2 nephews Ryan Greene, and Alex green, and the apples of her eye her two grandchildren Corinne Maxfield, and Dominic Maxfield.
Services will be held at the Oak Tree Estates, Visalia Ca on September 7 at 10 am.
