Nijmeh Nazzal Mitri went to her heavenly home on June 30, 2024, at the age of 86. Nijmeh was born in Ramallah, Palestine on August 23rd,1937, to parents Manawel and Miriam Nazzal.
Nijmeh was a surgical nurse in Saudi Arabia where she met and married Issa Mitri and had three beautiful children.
In 1970, the family came to San Francisco, California and owned and operated a grocery store. The family then moved to Visalia, California in 1977 to open Mitri Hog Farm.
Nijmeh was a devout Catholic, she lived by her faith and raised her family teaching and instilling their faith in them, Nijmeh’s faith was strengthened by her daily watching of the Catholic mass on television. She always went to Friday and Sunday Mass, never missing. Nijmeh was a soft spoken, kindhearted, loving mother, grandmother (TeTe), sister and friend.
Nijmeh was a proud member of Good Shepard Catholic Parish, Catholic Daughters, and Altar Rosary Society. She loved going to bible studies throughout her lifetime.
Nijmeh is preceded in death by her parents Manawel and Miriam Nazzal and brother Bahjat Nazzal.
Nijmeh is survived by her children: Sami (Susan) Mitri, Samir (Lisa) Mitri and Amal Mitri. Grandchildren: Rafi, Rami, Anson, Eileen and Kayla. Great grandchild Gabriella. Brothers: Naim and George Nazzal. Sisters: Laila Harb and Naimeh Khoury.
The Rosary and Catholic Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, on Friday July 12, 2024, at 7:30 A.M. followed by burial service at Visalia District Cemetery. Services in care of Hadley Marcom Funeral Chapel.
