Pauline Audrey Giraudi

Pauline Giraudi passed away peacefully on January 11, 2022, at the age of 98, in Visalia, California. Pauline was a loving and devoted mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Our family is blessed to have had so many wonderful years with her. Pauline was born in Atkins, Arkansas on May 11, 1923 to John and Maude Pack, she was the youngest of ten children. In early childhood, she was baptized in the Arkansas River, and went to school in Blackville. In 1935, she moved to California with her family, and went to school at Lovell in Cutler. In 1941, Pauline met Joe Giraudi and they were married the following year in Reno, Nevada. They were alone at the courthouse in Reno, so made friends with another couple also getting married, and they provided witness to each other's ceremonies. Pauline and Joe were married for 57 years, before Joe passed away in August, 2000. They raised three children together, Terry, Linda and Ron. They initially lived in the Cutler/Yettem area but moved the family to Visalia in 1951, where they bought a small farm. Over the years, the family farmed cotton and raised chickens, cattle and hogs. Joe also worked as a maintenance foreman at a winery in Cutler, while Pauline helped manage the farm. Pauline, and her daughter Linda, also worked at the winery for many years. Eventually, they converted the farm to rental properties, before selling the land in 1990. They enjoyed annual family summer vacations in Santa Cruz and the San Francisco Bay area. Pauline had many interests in her life, including baking, gardening and growing flowers. Canning peaches and other fruits grown on the farm was also an annual event. Pauline spent a lot of time crocheting, which became a major pastime for her in later years. Family members, friends and various charities have been blessed with blankets, booties, and hats – all homemade by Grandma with love. She did not attend church regularly, however she had a very strong religious background, faith, and continued to study the Bible throughout her life. Pauline had such an amazing heart, and was always ready to help others in need. She is survived by her daughter Linda, son Ron, grandson Greg, his wife Meredith, and two great grandchildren, Jackson and Delaney. Also welcoming Pauline in Heaven, is her son Terry, who passed away in 1977. Services have been entrusted to the Hadley Marcom Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 19, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Chapel, located at 1700 West Caldwell Avenue, Visalia. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 20, at 8:00 am, at the Visalia Cemetery Chapel, located at 1300 West Goshen Avenue, Visalia. Internment will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Visalia Rescue Mission or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
