Ruben Victor Franco came into this world on January 6, 1955 to Matt and Vera (Leaton) Franco in Colorado, while his father was stationed there in the Air Force. He attended Ruidoso NM High for two years and College in the Bay area, he graduated class of 73' at Mt Whitney. He was a loving Man; Son, Brother, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, and Friend to all that knew him. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, riding horses, team roping, and bull riding. He also loved Bronco riding in Roswell NM and riding in the Sequoias, back packing for days on ends. He also trained horses along with his sister back in the day. Ruben did it all. Ruben had been a General Contactor for 33 years. He had a huge impact; helping others in need. He would take in the homeless from the streets and give them shelter and work; helping whoever needed it or didn't. He would've given the shirt off his back to anyone at any time. He never knew a stranger; he called them friends... Ruben loved to surround himself with animals...He was truly the most loving Giant we've ever known.. He is preceded in death by his father Matt and his brother Daniel. He is survived mother Vera, and by Yvonne and James Cochran, his sister and brother in law. He was loved deeply by his family and friends.. He wasn't perfect ... He was just a man after all.. He will be deeply missed. Thank you for all the laughter and memories we shared with you God bless you My Brother Via Condios" I love you .. Ruben's Favorite Song by Brooks and Dunn The Cowboy Rides Away "I knew the stakes were high right from the start. When she dealt the cards, I dealt my heart. Now I just found a game that I can't play, And this is where the cowboy rides away. And my heart is sinking like the setting sun, Setting on the things I wish I'd done. It's time to say goodbye to yesterday. This is where the cowboy rides away. We've been in and out of love and in-between. And now we play the final showdown scene. As the credits roll a sad song starts to play, And this is where the cowboy rides away. And my heart is sinking like a setting sun, Setting on the things I wish I'd done. Oh the last goodbye's the hardest one to say, And this is where the cowboy rides away. Oh the last goodbye's the hardest one to say. This is where the cowboy rides away." Arrangements are in the care of Hadley Marcom Funeral Chapel.
